Over more than two decades, numerous studies and analyzes were developed, contributing to the scientific community and, consequently, helping to optimize projects and works in which BraBo was later involved.

In addition to recording and/or proving hypotheses, that is, the universalization and validation of knowledge, not to mention helping to improve the performance parameter of scientific production in Brazil, the relevant production of articles generated by the BraBo team was able to achieve goals and meet tight deadlines in several works throughout the national territory.

Therefore, based on the academic base where BraBo was born and based on this professor profile, below are some of the articles produced by the technical team.

Today, hydrodemolition with high-pressure waterjet is a well-established technology in construction engineering, especially as a concrete removal technique. However, practical usage in underground construction still remains under-explored, posing a great challenge for new and innovative designs. Compared to conventional excavation tools (based on fracture, friction and wear)...

The present work presents a case study of the geotechnical-structural analysis of the foundations of a wind farm in Rio Grande do Sul with 10 towers. For this purpose, the basic criteria of the Ultimate Limit State, Service Limit State and Fatigue Limit State are considered. In all cases, the analysis observes the technical standards in force in Brazil...

Whereas the trends in construction of microtunnels suggest increasing usage of mechanized methods, in developing countries there are still some obstacles to their widespread usage – e.g. relatively high cost, lack of skilled manpower, shortage of equipment. In fact, manual methods are still the most prevalent practice in developing countries...

Tunnel boring machines are important tools in underground infrastructure projects. Although being well established equipment, these machinesare based on designsof more than 60 years ago and are characterized by big dimensions, enormous weight and high power consumption. Commercial aspects should be noted too. The model adopted by the TBM...

Tunnel Boring Machines play an important role in the underground infrastructure execution of modern cities. They weigh thousands of tons and measure hundreds of meters besides utilizing high powered energy in the excavation process. Although being well established, they are based on a last century design approach and they are not compatible...

High pressure abrasive water jets (HPAWJ) are an emergent excavation technology. Despite being used for several applications since the nineteenth century, it is only in recent decades that this excavation purpose has been considered. This is the result of evolution in high pressure pump technology and parameter investigation...
